Scenario
A woman puts her career on hold to become a stay-at-home mom, but soon her domestic life takes a surreal turn. It was originally slated for direct streaming on Hulu, but strong reception from test screenings prompted Searchlight Pictures to give it a wide theatrical release.. Riding Carusel” Played by Alexander McCabeWritten by Alexander McCabe. Overall, the movie is good, but I expected it to be darker and more gory than comic.
-a career-defining performance
The target audience should be parents. Even though I’m not a senior now, I can totally relate to the topics presented. If you have questions about motherhood and female rage, you may find this film witty. The script is also well written; some of the characters’ dialogue is very clear.Marielle Heller is definitely a talented director who can adapt a seemingly impossible book into a hit movie. This is the best performance I’ve seen from her yet and might be the best I’ve seen. She truly believes in the role. The depth of her performance is evident in the intricate details of her anger and pain.
So far, this movie seems to be divisive
Adams embodies the role of mother with an authenticity that resonates deeply, likely stemming from her own real-life experience as a mother. This personal connection elevates her performance, making it feel both relatable and authentic. I can’t help but feel a strong connection between her portrayal and my own mother, as if she captures the essence of motherly love and sacrifice in a way that really speaks to me. I’ve seen some people dismiss her performance and many believe that Adams should not have won or even been nominated for this odd role.
No, definitely not
For me, acting awards are always based on performance, not films. She is the vehicle of the film. She should definitely be nominated or even win. The passion must not disappear.
Also, Scott McNary is fantastic
I hope more people recognize and see my points. Despite some flaws, the film is worth watching.
